About the Bags
Are all bags handmade?
Yes. Every single bag in the MadebyKaira shop is crocheted by hand, by me. No machines, no factory, no assistants. If I make it, I make all of it.
What yarn do you use?
I use premium cotton and acrylic yarns that are colourfast, durable, and chosen for how they look and feel. Cotton yarn is used for structured bags that benefit from breathability. Acrylic yarn gives a wider colour range and excellent durability.
How long does each bag take to make?
A tote bag takes approximately 8–12 hours. A sling bag takes 4–6 hours. A mini purse takes 2–3 hours. This is why handmade bags are priced the way they are — you are paying for real time and real skill.
Do the bags come with a lining?
Many bags come with a hand-sewn cotton fabric lining. This is specified on each product page. If you want a lining on a bag that doesn't include one, mention it in your order notes and I'll let you know if it can be added.
Ordering & Shipping
How do I pay? Do you offer Cash on Delivery?
We do not offer Cash on Delivery. All orders are prepaid via UPI — scan the QR at checkout, pay, and upload your payment screenshot. Your order is confirmed as paid the moment the screenshot is uploaded.
How long does delivery take?
For in-stock bags: 3–5 business days. For made-to-order bags: 5–10 business days for production plus shipping time. I'll always let you know the expected dispatch date when you order.
Do you ship across India?
Yes — I ship pan-India. Free shipping is available on orders above a certain amount (check current offer on homepage).
Custom Orders
Can I order a bag in a specific colour?
Absolutely! Custom colour orders are welcome. Message me on Instagram @madebykaira or use the Custom Order page with your colour preference, bag style, and any other details.
Can I order a personalised bag as a gift?
Yes! I can add personalised tags, gift wrapping, and custom gift messages. These make beautiful, unique birthday, anniversary, and wedding gifts. Mention it in your order notes.
Returns & Quality
What is your return policy?
Every piece is handmade to order over many hours of work, so all items are non-refundable. We do not offer refunds on any product.
Can I exchange an item?
No. There is no exchange policy on our handmade pieces. Please choose your colour and size carefully before ordering.
Will my bag look exactly like the photo?
Your piece will be as close as possible to the images shown. These are handmade custom pieces, so small variations in shade, stitch and finish are natural and part of the craft.
What if a stitch comes loose?
Message me. If something comes loose within 6 months of purchase due to a manufacturing issue, I'll help you fix it.
